Thank you for the friend request Robin! I am also honored that I have been made a featured member. I will definitely be sure to blog about some of my experiences as a up and coming author (good and bad). Thanks again and have a wonderful week!

Hi Robin,

My apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I would love to do a cooking video, thus if you know of one who can shoot it, please forward me their information.
I have a few dashes of a few good notes to share;

1. In celebration of the Holidays, my books are now available at 50% off thru December on my website.

2. I will be setting up a booth at Colorado's Food and Gift show, held next weekend at the Convention Center in Denver. All members of this site that stop by the smell the goodness will receive a discount.

And most importantly:

On Oct 14th 2008 in Frankfurt Germany, my Baking at High Altitude Cookbook received an honorary mention as one of the Best of the Best Cookbooks in the World.

If anyone has any questions about this event, please contact me.

ENJOY

Hello :~)

Would you like to save the lives of hungry childrens?

Thank you for your interest, hope you can join us.This is very important! We are saving lives!

Please find the time to learn about NTC project.

Be A Force For Good

Every month millions of nutritious meals are donated by caring individuals around the world through the Nourish the Children® Initiative to feed hungry children in Africa, China, Southeast Asia, and South America. You may notice on the counter above that another meal is donated approximately every second but it is not nearly enough to save the 5 million children who die each year from malnutrition.

Join us in our mission to save those children by purchasing VitaMeal®, a food designed specifically for chronically malnourished children, and donating your purchase through Nourish the Children to one of our charity partners that distributes this food to those who need it most at no additional cost to you. We also send millions of meals to victims of disaster such as the earthquake in China, the hurricanes in the Gulf Coast and the tsunami in Southeast Asia.

With Nourish the Children, you have the satisfaction of knowing exactly what you are buying and how it is going to be used. View video footage of the initial work being done for the Build a Village Project in Malawi.

Due to Perry's report and other complaints and concerns, as well as my own experience with Mr. Hawk, I have officially banned him from the Network. Thank you, Perry, for your comments, as your story was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. Welcome to the community!

Arthur Hawk stole my eBook and retitled it "Alive and Kicking', then sold it without my permission or paying me royalties. He owes me money from when I wrote three eZines for him in Cebu in 2004. He owes other people there a lot of money also. I have all the proof required, feel free to email me for the details. If he owes you money, get it back as soon as you can. He publishes photos he has no right to use but claims he bought them. He rips off other writer's work and couldn't care less. I had to leave my wife and two small children for four months and work overseas to recoup the income lost when I left a good job to work for Arthur Youngblood Hawk. He is a true con man. Very convincing, slick, believable and charming but ruthless and uncaring. You have been warned. Perry Gamsby

Profile Information

Relationship to Publishing:
Author, Editor, Coach/Consultant, Publisher, Artist
What are you looking for? How can we help you? What do you want to share?
I want to help authors be successful. My radio show, Authors101 is a great platform to share ideas and get some tips that you can use right away to achieve your publishing goals. I want to work with authors who need assistance in editing, both developmental and standard, or who want help with book proposals, market positioning, and navigating the sometimes confusing publishing matrix.
About Me:
Authors’ Consultant and Coach:
Some of the areas I have helped people so far include:
Target your idea: Identify who is your audience, what are their interests, which format is most likely to appeal to them, which writing style, tone, and approach will help your book connect with your readers?
Build your platform: Writing a book is the first step. It will only make a difference if people read it. I can help you position yourself as an expert on your topic and start to create a base audience for your message. These people will be the ones who buy your book first. Whether you self-publish or seek a publisher, you will have a great advantage if you can demonstrate you already have a solid platform from which to launch.
Book proposals: If you want to be published, I can write (or help you write) a professional book proposal that will impress agents and show you are a pro. Also, I can teach you how to make sure your proposal gets noticed and considered by the right agents without having to send dozens of query letters.

Self-Publishing: Multi-media e-books are a great way to launch your publishing career quickly with minimal monetary investment.

Ghost writing, Editing:
As an experienced professional writer, editor and proof reader. I can produce copy for you or help you complete your masterpiece. I have written and/or researched articles for The Washington Post, New York Times Magazine, and Vanity Fair, to name a few. I also worked as a Staff Writer for a daily newspaper covering a variety of areas including: human interest, small business, politics and government, health and wellness, entertainment as well as investigative reporting.

I have edited several books, some published by major houses including Doubleday, Harcourt Brace, and Random House.

I earned my BA in Journalism from George Washington University in 1986. While in school, I was an editor for the GW Review, a quarterly publication for poetry.

I have an MA in Psychology and am articulate in the areas of self-help, spirituality, and mental health. I am a certified Level II Meditation teacher through the Shambhava School of Yoga.

I owned a personal fitness training studio for 10 years and wrote a newsletter and several articles on health, fitness, nutrition and other wellness topics.

Tooting My Horn, and a couple others

It's not often that I admit to "tooting my own horn." Number one, because that phrase is a cliche, and as an editor, I avoid cliches like the plague. (Oops, there I go again.)

This past Saturday, the Colorado Independent Publishers Association held its annual Evvy Awards, and I am proud to announce that all three of the books I edited that were entered in the contest won awards.

What have you done lately?

I was just reflecting on all the great information we have on the Authors 101 show and how our wonderful guests give us so many tips and tools we can use to become more successful. Perhaps you are like me and you hear a great idea on one of the shows and say "Note to self: DO THIS!" Perhaps you even write it down, but as the day goes on and evening comes and one day fades into the next, that note to self may fade away into the background and eventually into oblivion. It is so easy to get caught… Continue

Website Sales on Authors101 Show

We had a terrific show today with guest Darcy Hoag, a coach for Joe Vitale's internet marketing program. Darcy shared with us simple steps you can take to turn website traffic into sales. I was amazed at how simple the strategies are and how easy to implement. Some of the major points Darcy shared with us include: being really clear with your visitors about what you want them to do (purchase, join your mailing list, etc). She said too often websites have so much information, it is hard for a vis… Continue

Book Reading Groups...A Marketing Strategy

Some books, like the YA YA Sisterhood, have made it to the best-seller list driven by the old-fashioned version of viral marketing: book groups. On the next Authors 101 show, we will talk about how to create marketing opportunities through book discussion groups. ACN Member and Author Cindy Gabriel (Unexpected Intimacy) asked me for some coaching on this, so I did some research, and will share with her ideas and resources to help her get started. Tune in to learn how this applies to you a… Continue

WRITE A BOOK THIS WEEKEND!

A CHALLENGE and an OPPORTUNITY. Write a book in one weekend. Who's crazy enough to commit to that? Well, at least 10 listeners on the Life on the Skinny Branches Show committed this morning to write a book by Monday. I am one of them. It started with a sharing by the show's co-host, Jim "Jimmie P" Pekhonen that he had committed to write a book this weekend. Jim and I had talked before the show, and I told h… Continue
